Softerra Hex Editor is a freeware component implemented as a 32-bit ActiveX (OCX) control, which will seamlessly integrate a hex editor in your applications. Softerra Hex Editor can be used with the most popular ActiveX (OLE, OCX) control containers, such as Delphi, C++ Builder, Visual C++ and many more. It includes 32-bit ActiveX controls supporting Windows 95/98/ME and Windows NT/2000. This control will save you hours spent tweaking your user interfaces.

Here are the major features of Softerra Hex Editor:

  • Ability to work in two modes: insert mode and overwrite mode;
  • Working with clipboard;
  • Changing the number of data-containing columns;
  • Data-containing column number auto-detection based on control window size;
  • Ability not to display address;
  • Displaying address as WORD or DWORD;
  • Displaying data as BYTE, WORD or DWORD;
  • Ability not to display ASCII;
  • Changing text and background colors;
  • Changing font height;
  • Ability to get information about whether the data has been modified;
  • ASCII representation of the binary data depends on the current keyboard layout.
